Waiting for Fasho – Racist No Show in Sheffield

At 12pm on Saturday 6th September a couple of hundred antifascists came out to defend refugee accommodation is Sheffield.

In the event, the few fascists who did make it on to the streets did so in ones and twos, quickly skulking away without announcing themselves as soon as they saw the local opposition.

By 2pm it was clear the fascists were a no show and with the streets were clearly ours. Some of us then swung by the nearby Home Office building for a quick pyrotechnic celebreation.

UKIP – Are they still a thing?

On Saturday, 8th November, United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) intends to march through Sheffield. The most common response to this news has been “Didn’t they pack up years ago?” The answer, unfortunately, is no. Palestine Action Solidarity Mobilisation Sheffield

On Thursday 26th June, several SCARFers attended the Palestine Action (PA) solidarity demonstration outside Sheffield Town Hall. A few hundred people turned out to voice their opposition to the government's intention to proscribe PA – effectively labelling anyone associated with, or expressing support for, the movement a terrorist. This authoritarian attempt to silence dissent needs to be resisted, but it's also a sign of desperation and a state acknowledgement of the effectiveness of PA's tactics. SCARF offers its wholehearted support and solidarity for PA's aims and the tactics they employ towards ending the UK's complicity in a genocide.
