An embarrassing weekend for the 'Homeland Party' who ended their annual conference by being chased through the car park. On Saturday 27th September, Homeland – the fascist micro party – held their 2025 conference at the Village Hotel in Walsall, just outside of Birmingham. Antifascists arrived around 10am to a distressed looking group of Homeland members, including a few acting as security. Daniel Gale appeared and looked close to tears before scurrying back into the hotel lobby.  Activists, including members of Birmingham Queers for Palestine, took over the entrance to the hotel while chanting 'Nazi scum, outta Brum', 'racist, sexist, anti gay, Homeland party go away', along with other catchy chants and banging a drum.  The hotel management went into crisis with a mob at the front and the phones ringing off the hook. Recently, SCARF members have been out on the streets countering far right and anti-immigrant groups. On Saturday 17th May, we opposed the Britain First demo in Birmingham, and yesterday (24th May), we mobilised to oppose and observe the Great British National Strike in both Doncaster and Sheffield.  Initial impressions of the groups yesterday were that this was a loose collection of GB NEWS viewers and REFORM voters rather than a new fascist street movement. Talking points included government corruption, winter fuel allowance, inheritance tax, and an off-piste emphasis on the Chagos Islands. Of course the main scapegoat for the decline in living standards was immigration. As austerity and the coming climate crisis bite deeper, SCARF expects we will see a rise in right wing activity as the billionaires try to defect attention from their crisis.
